2008 CATEGORIES:

This competition, now in its 5th
year, was open to any Butler County 8th or 9th grade student
and continues to grow as more students
participate and many art educators are using the soap
sculpture as an element of curriculum. This year,
more than 450 students have participated from area schools
including Garfield, Queen of
Peace, Wilson and Ross Middle and High Schools. Over 900 bars of soaps
were distributed to students. Shannon Frey, art teacher at
Garfield, along with other area educators is to be commended
for the enthusiasm put towards this project.
